Poole Tip and Recycling Centre

Nuffield Household Waste and Recycling Centre is now open following Coronavirus social distancing measures

Poole's local tip and recycling centres reopened on Monday 11 May. A number of safety measures are in now in place.

Visitors to the recycling centre are to expect the following; controlled queuing with traffic restrictions, number of cars on site reduced by 50% to maintain social distancing, visitors to each site must bring proof of residency to access the facilities,  only 1 person will be able to get out of the car and unload the waste, staff on site will not be able to help unload your vehicle or dispose of your waste, payment for chargeable waste will be with card only (preferably contactless), if queuing traffic becomes hazardous and dangerous, the HRC may have to close early to eliminate the problem or if we are instructed, you are asked not to bring textiles and clothes to be recycled. Commercial waste is still closed, regular customers will be contacted. Click here to visit more detailed informtion on the council website.

Unless there is a need to change for safety reasons, the tip and recycling centre will be open from 9am to 6pm every day.

Arriving at the Recycling Centre

When you get to the site you will see two entrances, the one on the right is for cars and has a height restriction of 2 metres. The one on the left has a barrier and an intercom, and is used for vans and pick-ups with permits.

The site has a one-way traffic flow with a separate entrance and exit.

You will not be charge for disposal of the following:

The following materials are recycled, composted, reused or recovered for free:

  • textiles
  • cardboard
  • wood
  • garden waste
  • furniture (reusable quality)
  • metal
  • bric-a-brac
  • car batteries
  • portable household batteries
  • electrical equipment (TVs, monitors, small electricals and electronics)
  • fluorescent lamps/tubes
  • white goods - fridges, freezers, washing machines etc
  • chemicals
